About us

As well as young people and Leaders from Newchurch, we have members who live in Shanklin, Lake, Sandown, Arreton, Brading, Godshill, Rookley and Ventnor.  We welcome boys and girls aged 6-14 to Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, as well as Young Leader Explorer Scouts aged 14-18 who help with the 3 Sections.

What we've been up to recently

We get together for our weekly meetings and sometimes during weekends and holidays.  We've been having a go at lots of things . . . Challenges and Badges . . . including Adventure, Expedition, Nights and Hikes Away, Camper, Swimmer, IT, Musician, Emergency Aid, Master at Arms, Water Activities, Collector . . . and more . . . there are so many to choose from and something for everyone!

During the year, we try to attend events and competitions at District and County level, as well as ‘doing our own thing’.

We really enjoy ourselves at 1st Newchurch!  Our programme includes some great activities and camps planned for the year . . . and we do our best at everything we have a go at!  Come along for a visit and see if you'd like to join the fun and adventure.

Like everyone else, we’re always on the look out for extra adults to help out both occasionally and on a regular basis.  No experience is necessary, and there’s training on offer to help you know what’s what . . . and inspire you with ideas.  Come and join us and we can guarantee an action-packed time, with as much fun, laughter and adventure as you want to take on!  Why not give it a try – phone one of the leaders for a chat.
