Corf Campsite was acquired by the Isle of Wight Scouts in 1937. It is situated in the west part of the Island, ½ mile north-east of Shalfleet. OS grid reference is SZ 419900. Corf is bounded by Shalfleet and Corf Lakes in Newtown Creek, a tidal and sheltered inlet from the Solent.
On our second day we did our naturalist badge. So we went down to the river. We drew the river and wrote a description of it then we drew a picture of the woods and wrote a description of it. Then we went back and had lunch.
After lunch the Beavers arrived and we had an afternoon of games with the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all taking part
Then we cooked our tea, it was very nice.
In the evening, just before dark, we played another wide game. This time it was a sort of flag raid but the flag was a large dice.
At the end of the day we all gathered round the fire and had a sing song.
Sunday we packed the tents up and our bags, then we had a go at Archery. I shot the gold.
After that we put all the tents and equipment into the van. Our Mums and Dads came to pick us up, and drove us to the Scout hut, and we packed it all away ready for October.
