The following was written by Sam, one of the Scouts

We arrived Friday evening put up the tents and unpacked. Then we played a game called Robin Hood. We had to go into the woods and get a Gold coin( really a scrap of paper). Then we had to get back to the entrance without being caught by the sheriff's men. This was called a wide game, it was good fun.

On our second day we did our naturalist badge. So we went down to the river. We drew the river and wrote a description of it then we drew a picture of the woods and wrote a description of it.
Then we went back and had lunch.

After lunch the Beavers arrived and we had an afternoon of games with the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all taking part

Then we cooked our tea, it was very nice.

In the evening, just before dark, we played another wide game. This time it was a sort of flag raid but the flag was a large dice.

At the end of the day we all gathered round the fire and had a sing song.

Sunday we packed the tents up and our bags, then we had a go at Archery. I shot the gold.

After that we put all the tents and equipment into the van. Our Mums and Dads came to pick us up, and drove us to the Scout hut, and we packed it all away ready for October.
