The Explorer Scout Section

Explorer Scouts are young people usually aged between 14 and 18 years old.  They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family, and can move up to the next Section, Scout Network, between the ages of 17½ and 18½.

There are many types of Explorer Scout Units, some are linked to Scout Groups, others are based around different activities.  Explorer Scouts get to take part in all the usual great Scouting activities such as kayaking, climbing, orienteering ... as well as working on projects to help their local community.  Explorer Scouts also have the opportunity to get involved in working more closely with the younger Sections as a Young Leader.
