East Wight District Scout Camp

The camp took place at a camping field in Nettlestone. This year there were 117 scouts, 3 cubs, 25 leaders and 8 others. This included our D.C and her husband. Friday we started with a night hike organised by Paul Wray, which took in St Helens, the Duver and surrounding area.
Saturday we had 8 bases on the campsite: Hot air balloon / model making, Pioneering, Radio, Shooting, Problem solving, Jenga, Observation & Battleships. In the evening we walked to the Duver. There we first had an excellent barbeque, cooked for us by the Fellowship and the Rotary club. After that we had a campfire on the beach, which Alan Garnet prepared for us.
Sunday morning we went back to the Duver where we had Beach Olympics run by Steve Jones. The weather was amazing… hot, dry & sunny. Everybody seemed to have a good time.
I would like to thank everyone who came for making it a Happy and Fun weekend
