Camping in 2nd Cowes Group HQ

Bring your unit, troop, pack or even colony to the north of the Island and stay in 2nd Cowes Headquarters.   The building can accommodate 30 persons with a grassed area at rear suitable for up to 2 patrol tents or can be used for games, barbeques etc.   There is a fully equipped kitchen, central heating and hot showers, and the hall has disabled facilities.   It was upgraded in 2002.   For more information on the Hall see  Scoutbase - 2nd Cowes

Groups from the mainland regularly return to use the building as a base for exploring the Isle of Wight or for self-catering when using adjacent Water Activities Centres.   It can also be used as a stopover point for those hiking around the Island.  For those travelling by foot, it is about 15 minutes from the Southampton to Cowes fast ferry.
