At Cowes Area, we believe in letting the members have a say in what activities they want to do and even a chance of running them as well.
Some of these activities include: camping in the New Forrest, Kayaking, taking part in Robin Hill’s electric lights show, cycling, archery, rock climbing, trampolining, wide games with other explorer units, hiking from one side of the Island to the other, survival camps and our all-time favourite, fire lighting.
We have also previously organised and taken part in the Jamboree On The Internet 2016 where we talked to Scouts from all across the world, the furthest we talked to being Australia.
Whilst doing all these activities, we work towards many badges and awards, including the Duke of Edinburgh awards and the Chief Scout awards. Previous members have earned their Explorer Belt, an award involving an expedition in a country outside the UK for 10 days, and the Queen Scout Award, which is the top award in Scouting.
So, if you are interested in taking part, or just want to find out more, please come along and meet us at 1st Northwood Scout hall on a Thursday at 19:15pm, or contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you!
