Hope your families and you are well.
Before I go into the information about Corf’s winter closure, Sam Biles (Chair of Corf Committee), the Corf Committee and myself, would like to very much thank all those Scout Groups and Scout Families who used Corf over 2018. It would be so good to know that in 2019 that ALL Scout Groups on the Island at least have one camp and a few day/evening visits. So please look at 2019 and see if this can be arranged within your Group.
The Corf Committee have decided this year not to raise Island fees for camping etc. although we have on Mainland and other Youth Organisations.
From the 1st December 2018 all buildings on the site, except for the Mattinson Centre, will be drained of water with the electricity/gas being switched off. Both the entrance and exit gates to the site will be locked
Corf will then re-open for everyone, although it will be used the weekend before, on the 1st April 2019. Not Easter as this is later next year starting on Good Friday 19th April 20129.
If you would like to carry out any work on your own site please let me know on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07525726867. The only work you are able to carry out at the moment is clearing leaves, ditches and fallen wood off the trees. You will be receiving in the near future, from Sam Biles, information on what to do if you would like to carry out more extensive work on your site. So please watch this space.
Don’t forget to book for next year. Booking Form is here or email Sarah Kingswell on email@example.com
Wishing you all a really joyous Christmas & Happy Scouting New Year 2019
Corf Scout Campsite Warden.
