The Sun Inn at Hulverstone was heaving when 80 contestants turned up for the Jamboree Team’s Pub Quiz. Well done Becky, Connor, Malc and the team for a fun packed evening raising money for the team.
The team featured in Spotlight on Youth in the County Press this weekend and could have been spotted in Morrisons in Newport, bag packing. The Respect (IW Festival campsite support) team raised a huge sum (yet again) to support the team.
The team will be popping up at loads of events, including (hopefully) running the car park for the Teddy Bears Picnic (see the events diary for information).
The team will be busy through the summer and would be glad of any help you can give them as they have to raise a massive £37,000 to send our team, team leader Connor, and International Support Team member Becky to America next year, to join 30,000 Scouts from around the world at the next World Scout Jamboree. Our Jamboree team funds will also assist Scouts from the poorer nations to take part in this amazing experience. (Incidently, my cousin lives 150 mile south of the Jamboree campsite and said the temperature there has been around 100degF, thats about 35degC!).
Well done team and thanks to everyone who has and who will support them.
