Task One

BREAK OUT THE BUNTING!
Create homemade red, white and blue bunting and decorate the outside of your home.
We’ve suggested some template ideas here to download, print and colour in or if you’re really crafty you could make or even sew your own.

Task Two

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD!
Research 1940’s and VE Day recipes to cook meals or treats using only ingredients that would have been available during the WWII years. We’ve suggested some recipes here and for the older ones maybe take up the ration book challenge here too.

Task Three

TUNE IN, STEP UP AND SING ALONG!
Listen in to VE Day radio, we’ve suggested a local broadcast here with a host from Freshwater Totland Cubs might know! Learn the wartime jive, we’ve linked to Strictly’s Kevin & Karen who take you through the basic steps.

Task Four

WHAT’S HAPPENED SINCE VE DAY?
Today we are looking at what Scouts contributed to WWII, the link to the Scout archive (Heritage) is here.
What was it like being a child in WWII and how is today different, we’ve looked at some examples here.
